Mammogram Pictures

Today I drove to Seattle to have a mammogram. I thought it was important enough to take pictures. Here they are.

Shame on you for thinking that the pictures I took were of a personal nature. Hang your head and tell yourself that you really need to be a better person. I took pictures of my trip to Seattle and back again.

I drove via the freeway for most of the way, but traffic was so bad that I ditched the freeway and cut across Boeing field to highway 99, which takes you on the viaduct through the west side of Seattle, overlooking Puget Sound. I simply held up my camera and clicked, hoping for a good picture. As you can see, we're still having dark clouds and rain. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
You can see downtown in this one. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting The Aurora Viaduct, as it's called, passes over the Seattle waterfront, which you can see in the lower left of this photo. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Then you pass under Seattle in the Battery Street tunnel and cross the Aurora bridge over the Lake Union, and you come to the Zoo. You don't go in the zoo as much as you drive through the middle of it sort of. The little bridges you see are pedestrian walkways.
Photobucket - Video and Image HostingAs you continue on Aurora, you come to one of my favorite places. Greenlake. This is the neighborhood I grew up in. This is the lake my friends and I would walk around in the middle of the night, where we'd jump off the docks and swim with our clothes on, where we went after a formal dance in all our glory and played on the swings. This is Greenlake. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Then I had lunch with my Dad at Taco del Mar, I had my mammogram (more on that delightful experience later) and I drove back home. I took another route home. I-5 to the east of downtown. Photobucket - Video and Image Hostingand then I passed through the flood zone. You may have heard that we've had some rain up here. Oh, just a little. There's not supposed to be water here. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Or here. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And here is an interesting picture of a car. There shouldn't be water where you see water in this picture either. Photobucket - Video and Image HostingIt was all good when I saw this near the end of my journey home, except all that water here in the picture? Yeah, it shouldn't be there either. I hear that we have more rain and wind in store for us tomorrow. Yay us!

You know the meaning of rainbows but then, having an ark in the backyard wouldn't hurt either...

There was a Flood coming and the sherriff went door to door to evacuate people. One old man didn't go,Said he was waiting for Jesus to save him.

an hour later, water was up to the living room windows. Sherriff came again in a boat. For the Second time, the old man refused, saying that Jesus will save me.

An hour later, the water was up to the roof and the sherriff came in a helicopter. The old man refused to go becuase he said Jesus will save me.

Of course the old man drowned and was up face to Face with Jesus. The old man said "Why didn't you save me?". Jesus just shook his head and said, "I tried to, three different times."

You don't fool me. On the 14th floor of that dark towerblock straight ahead of you in that first picture, there is a woman clearly having her breasts squeezed. Don't tell me I am the only one who can see it.

Wheeeeeeee!

Today I was awakened to the not-so-delightful sounds of enormous dump trucks, (you know the ones that are a dump truck and they haul a trailer behind?) dumping truck load after truck load of dirt behind my house. Then the most incredibly noisey and squeaky (do they not grease the tracks on those things??) grader began shoving the dirt and rocks around. I had to fight the urge to throw a can of WD40 over the fence to the driver. It wasn't even eight in the morning. It wasn't even 7:30 yet. So I reluctantly arose from my bed and cleaned up the kitchen. After it was spotless, I went back upstairs to my freeze-zone (the only room in the house with AC) to do some online banking and make calls to check on medical bills, etc. As I was finishing up, in walks my husband! At first I had a moment of Oh-no-he's-lost-his-job terror. Then it passed after he smiled. Seems they ran out of work for the day. Odd, but then that's Boeing. So hubby was roped into going school cloth

Peace Begins with You

In my readings this week, I came across a video of Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin. He gave a talk entitled, "Peace Within." Who doesn't want peace? Who doesn't crave peace within their soul? In their lives? In their hearts and in their homes? How often do we have complete peace? I'd say my answer would have to be that there isn't enough peace in my life, heart or home. It's not like I live in a warzone--I do not. I'm blessed to live in a nation where I have freedoms granted to me by the founding fathers and I do not risk being struck down by bombs or shot by snipers when I venture forth from my home. My neighborhood is relatively safe, so much so that I take solo walks. The peace I speak of is something different. It's the peace that can be with me no matter my circumstances. I crave that peace. Elder Wirthlin says that peace begins in the hearts of righteous individuals. How does it begin? With a relationship with our creator. In ferven

She's Something...

Most of you know that I've got four children. My eldest is seventeen. Oh heavens...how did that happen? Wasn't I just seventeen the other day? I'm sure I was.... Well, she's amazing. I know the majority of mothers have very high compliments to pay their children--and rightly so. However, my baby girl is astounding by anyone's standards. She is going to high school and college at the same time. In high school she's taking mostly AP (Advanced Placement) classes, which also count for college credits. She gets up at five a.m. every morning, goes to Seminary, then goes to school, she works four hours daily as an office manager at Winderemere Real Estate. She speaks Spanish, plays piano, guitar and flute. She goes to the gym daily and it shows. This was her yesterday. This is a picture I just took of her, after getting her braces put on. Now, having said that she is gifted and talented, I should ammend this post to tell you the following. She just got home
