Hottest Day

Yes, today is supposed to break records here in Seattle. These are not the kind of records I appreciate being broken. It will be well over 100 degrees here. It doesn't really matter, because it's been well over 90 for the past few days. The humidity is horrible and breathing is like taking in a solid substance rather than the oxygen I've been used to since birth. We have fans. Lots of fans. It's not pleasant having 95-98 degree air blown in your face but at least it's kept me from screaming. Today we figured out how to put the ac unit we have into our bedroom. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY!!! Ok, I'm sure I have but for now this happy beats all other happy in the recent past. Hubby is working on it right now. We've been spending so much time at the pool that I've grown gills. I think I used up half a tank of gas yesterday, just driving around so I could have cool air on me. Have I mentioned how much I love my husband?

A bird in the bush--er, I mean house

This lil guy flew in the dining room window and couldn't figure out how to fly back out. So I reached down to pick him up and he bit me. Well of course he bit me--how could he know I was being helpful? All he/she saw were an enormous pair of hands coming towards it. If I saw giant hands coming for me I might bite them too, if I didn't faint first. And that's been most of the excitement around here for the past few days. Ooh, I've been taking the girls to the pool at the Y every day and that's been fun. Except for the day I locked my glasses inside my locker and then couldn't SEE the lock enough to UNLOCK it to GET my glasses out. Or my clothes. Or anything else for that matter. I was not a happy camper, standing there in my bathing suit, banging my head against the lockers. I kept asking people as they passed me, "How's your eyesight?" It's amazing how many strangers will simply keep on walking when you ask them if they can see or not.

I Didn't Mean to Do It....

But somehow I managed to mess up Alli's 13th Birthday. We were on our beach cabin vacation and then left to go to Sequim to see my Aunt and Uncle. It was the stepping off point for Twilight Twitterpation going to Forks and La Push where it was hoped we would see or at the very least some yummy werewolf boys like these , but no. We did see the treaty line though. And we saw the beaches there and other things but we never did see Edward, Jacob, Bella, Jasper, Alice, Rosalie, Esmee, or any La Push boys that could transform into werewolves. After we left there, we took a detour up to Neah Bay. I was under the false impression that this was a resort area and would have some decent restaurants that we could visit for Alli's birthday dinner. Boy was I wrong. There was nothing up there but the res. Ok, there was one place and that's where we stopped because we were all starving. A tiny little girl with no shoes on met us at the door. We found a table by ourselves and the li

Fourth of July at the beach cabin...

I have massive amounts of pictures and haven't had time to go through them all.... So here's a little slide show of one of our days there. It was heaven. I'd love to live there. Honestly, I'd be thrilled in that tiny cabin for the rest of my life. Here goes..

See Ya On The Other Side

Lately...my life has felt like this.... I would much prefer some of this.... To that end, I will be going here for the next week... It's the beach cabin. I may never return. Ciao!
