She's home from college. From her first semester away. Home for Thanksgiving.
She stumbled into the house around 3 a.m after driving for 12 hours with some other college friends. She'd never looked more beautiful.
I hugged her until she said, "uh....ok, that's enough. Hello? Mom? Stop!"
I figured I was entitled since it had been three months since I'd seen her. Oh sure, we talked on the phone, texted and exchanged emails, but that's not physical contact. I just needed to hold her for a fewhours minutes.
You know how us moms are.....

It's not fair - you get to see your daughter home from college and my boy gets his driver's license and keeps me on edge.
ReplyDeleteHow are you?
Ha! My son LOST his license. To us, his mean parents. So I'm safe there.
ReplyDeleteI'm good. Working a LOT. Who knew it was more porfitable to write for web clients than it is to write for the newspapers? Oh, I still do my newspaper columns but it's more for sport now. I'm working a TON and loving it.
How are you? Still eschewing politics? LOL We should talk. I worry about your blood pressure.
