Buried in work...

And a little snow and ice as well. Snow day on Monday and that kept the kids home. Today is a two hour delay for school due to every bit of moisture having frozen solid and turned the roads into skating rinks. Everyone is still sleeping right now as I eat my morning oatmeal and work. So if you don't hear from me here on a regular basis it's because I'm swamped. This is a good thing, right? Right. Back to work Pammy....

Snoqualmie Pass

We had an interesting day. The girls had an audition at a talent agency. Don't ask. Then we had lunch at Burgermaster (Yes, clogged arteries r us) Then we decided to drive up to Snoqualmie Pass. It was snowing like mad...and it was c-c-c-c-c-cold. Here's a lovely slide show. Ok, the slide show isn't working so here are the pictures: This was on our drive up. More snow driving... Lance and the girls in the snow... All in all a fun day..... And now I have much work to do before I can sleep tonight. I picked up about fifteen new clients this week so I'm a busy little girl.

Frozen Waterfall..

I neglected to post this picture yesterday. Must have missed it somehow. There were so many beautiful things to see on the way up to Mt. Rainier and this was one of them. An icicle encrusted waterfall.

Mt. Rainier....

It was GORGEOUS today! The sky was blue, the snow was sparkly and the four-wheel drive was spectacular. The sun was shining... Niece Nicole and Allison taking a break... Handsome Hubby enjoying the day.... Three partners in crime... It was a beautiful day....right up until we were two blocks from home and Nicole began puking up in the back seat. The way way back seat. It was not a happy ending to our day.

Saturday is a special day....

We have our niece Nicole here with us for the three day weekend. The girls are lobbying to spend today up on Mt. Rainier, but it's raining (big surprise there) today and Monday looks to be more weather-friendly. The girls are not pleased. We told them to make a list of ten things they'd like to do today. The only caveat was that the activities on the list had to be free. Their first choice was for us to give them each ten dollars and take then to the mall. Um, no. We've finally decided on going to my other niece's house to play with her babies. What's more fun than that? I predict pictures. Lots of them.

Woo Hoo News!

Today my husband drove me to the Neurologist for my appointment. I didn't realize how tense I was until I noticed that my hands hurt because I was holding them so tightly in my lap. Nervous? Me? Yeah. All for naught. The sweetest words I've ever heard were from Dr. Kwan today. "I think it's unlikely that it's MS" He thinks my visual issues are due to optical migraine activity in my optic nerves. He's putting me on a daily medication to see if it helps. The other issues he's not sure about. He's testing me for other coagulation issues via bloodwork. He's also testing me for lupus. Oh joy. Lupus. I'm also having a sleep study and a thing to scope out my heart where apparently I'll be swallowing a tube with a small camera attached. I say 'apparently' because I don't even swallow pills well and I can't see me swallowing a camera while I'm still conscious. Unconscious? Sure, feel free to shove things down my throa...

Neurologist tomorrow

Tomorrow morning I see my neurologist to discuss my MS. Here's how I expect the conversation to go: Neuro: Hello. I've looked at your MRI films and it's apparent that you do have a brain. Me: My children have been seeking confirmation of that for years. They say I didn't have one. Now I have proof!Thank you! Neuro: You're welcome. Me: So, what else can you tell? Neuro: Well, It's not normal. Me: No kidding Neuro: No, really. It's the most abby normal brain I've ever seen. You should be studied. me: If it's a live-in study where I have to stay somewhere with all my meals given to me, I don't have to cook, clean or talk to a teenager for any length of time, I'm all yours. Neuro: It costs a lot of money Me: Sign me up. Yeah, we know it won't happen, but a girl can dream, right? Actually my dream is for him to say there's been some kind of mistake and those white areas in my brain aren't really MS, just a fuzzy picture....

Babies galore!

Today hubby and I spent some time with my niece's little ones. It was such fun....but....but.....wasn't it just yesterday that people were coming to my home to see my babies? I tell ya, don't blink people. Time passes too quickly. Here's a slideshow of the beautiful babies. Jared, Taylor and baby Isaac. I'll also put a few still pictures after the slide show for those of you who can't see the video. Baby Isaac Me holding Isaac. (see? I'm not as blond as you all seem to believe I am) Lance holding Taylor

I'd Like To Thank The Little People...

Pamela's Column for Pacific Publishing January 10, 2008 It’s time once again for the award shows to come pouring out of Hollywood like a tsunami of ooey-gooey-back-patting excess guaranteed to raise your blood sugar level just by watching the promos. ‘I’d like to thank all the little people….without whom….” I’m one of the little people. Ok, not little as far as size goes, but you know, little as in not famous. I’m about as little as they come. No one gives out awards in my category. They don’t even HAVE a category for me, but if they did, I’m sure I could come up with a doozy of an acceptance speech. I’d like to thank the academy for this honor—I know there are better mom’s out there, those who’ve given their kids a Wii, cell phones with unlimited texting and a bazillion gigs of music as well taking their kids on vacations to Hawaii, Disneyland, Disneyworld, the Bahamas and have sold their own blood to get them Hannah Montana concert tickets. They deserve this honor for always ...

Ashley's and Allison's Haircuts Memorialized

My job, as I see it, is to love my children and make sure that they have something to talk to their therapists about later in life. "Your mother did what??" "She made slide shows of my hair cuts" "No!" "Yes!" "She's a monster!" And here it is.....Ashley's day. and Allison's day....

Before I forget.....

Some people I know can't see a slideshow on my site due to having dial up, old connections, no quick time....whatever. So for those who cannot see a slideshow, here's a picture of our newly minted 19 year old on the day of her birthday. Behold.......

Spa Day

Today I promised the girls it was their day. One on one time with Mommy. First it was Ally's turn and then Ashley's. I planned on doing a lot more with each of them but we ran out of time, Mommy ran out of energy and then there was that whole running-out-of-money beast. These girls are expensive little hobbies! Both of them got their hair cut and flat-ironed. They both look so much older!! here's a quick pic of both. Now I have to run and take hubby to work. Then the Boy to work. Then I have a secret for the girls for the evening alone with mommy. Their day isn't over yet!

Yawn....

Sooooo tired. I just thought you needed to know. I'm off to pick up the husband from work at midnight. I'm sleepy....and it's dark and it's rainy and I really shouldn't be driving. Yes, having one car is really not a lot of fun. Tomorrow I have big plans. Like trying to get some writing done for clients. Hi clients! I promise, it's coming. Honest.

19 Years Ago Today....

I spent 21 hours in pain, 4 hours of pushing and all to bring this beautiful creature into the world. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not the world was ready for her... We took her out for her birthday lunch to a new pizza place near here called The Rock. The pizza was so-so, but that 9 layer chocolate cake? Hello! Ok, I only had two small bites. Honest.

New Year, New Me?

Today I began a different way of eating. Ok everyone. Stop laughing and snorting. My father-in-law Doug gave me a great gift for Christmas. It's called The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book, and apparently his patients (he's a massage therapist) have had great success with it. (Although I think the doctor's are wrong and I don't have MS. Denial? No. Of course not.) In fact...it's a way of eating that I'm going to have the entire family doing, for the most part. When they eat at home anyway. I'm willing to do what it takes to get my eyesight back the way it was and my balance improved. It also says I must give up sugar. No problem. It says I must give up chocolate. Ok...that might be an issue, but I'm going to do it. Ok, stop laughing everyone. I can do this, honest.
